Requiescat in Pace
Rosemarie Marek Vaughn - 11 May 2007 Sadly, we report the news of our dear friend's death at her home in Los Angeles. After a long stay in Mesa Verde Convalescent Facility in Costa Mesa, CA, she had progressed to the need for hospice care. Daughter AME brought 'Mosie' home to be near her family. She also leaves a son, BRIAN. She turned 80 in November 2006. Services were held on June 26, 2007 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Sun Valley, IDAHO.

LAWRENCE 'BUD' YACKLEY -- 12 May 2007 We wrote an article about him and his wife, Pat, in the Spring 2003 issue. He was receiving his diploma from Glenbard High School...many years late. Bud left Glenbard before graduation to join the Navy in 1941, so was not at the grad ceremonies. They (our elected officials) should have given him 'Credit' for his service, but it took many years to actually get it! (NOT SUPRISING)...But get it he did, and we are happy it came before he passed away. He and his best girl, Pat, recently moved from Glen Ellyn to a senior facility in Lombard.

Bette Stitt Staufenberg - aka - KALINA DeMontmorency Chuck
informed us that Bette passed away quietly Monday, February 12, 2007 of pneumonia in the assisted living facility where she had been living for a number of years. She leaves her three sons: Bruce and Kurt Staufenberg and Douglas DeMontmorency, three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Memorial plans have still not been settled. We all remember Bette's uncanny musical talent and the ability to play any tune you might request on the piano. You can hear her digital rendition of the Glenbard "Loyalty
Song" on our Class of 1944 website. More details of Bette's life on following pages.
