The 2006 Glenbard All-Class Reunion
February 28 & March 1, 2006
Laughlin, Nevada

The upcoming 2006 ALL CLASS reunion is the sixth for the "HILLTOPPERS" in Laughlin. Each year has seen a growth in popularity and alumni coming from every state and Puerto Rico. There is no doubt that the reasonable hotel rates, (for super accommodations) fine food, great hospitality, and the overall "small town" (for a resort community) feeling have a lot to do with the success.

The alumni that put on the show and handle all the details really enjoy doing it (believe it or not). But, make no mistake -- it is YOU who make it worthwhile.

This should tell you just about all the details you will need to plan your trip to Laughlin. Plus it will tell you what is being planned to make this a get-together to be remembered.

THE REUNION HEADQUARTERS

The RIVER PALMS RESORT AND CASINO is repeating as your host hotel. They have done a tremendous job for us in the past, plus have some very convenient features. The lobby is right by the front door and one does not have to walk through acres of slots to check in. There is an adjoining building with ample covered parking plus acres of RV and boat parking. The food is excellent and there is a wide choice of menus to suit every taste. We are not sure how lucky the slots and tables are but quite a few said they broke even -- a very good sign. There is a very large pool, soft-sand beach, exercise room, massage and spa services, full service beauty salon, video arcade and a river tour boat.

The hotel is at 2700 S. Casino Dr., Laughlin NV 89029. The hotel requests that you make your own reservations so call their toll free number 1-800-835-7903. Be sure to tell them that you are with the Glenbard Reunion Group and give our Code -- GLEN3. This will give you a special rate of $22 per night. NOTE -- You may chose to come a day early and stay a day longer, if so through a special arrangement) we get the same rate. For those with E-Mail they can be contacted at: www.rvrpalm.com

LAUGHLIN, NEVADA

Not surprisingly every hotel in Laughlin has a gambling casino. But there is much more to do here and in the surrounding area.

A neat riverwalk connects many of the hotels, with benches for watching desert sunrises and sunsets.

Laughlin is really a small town and all the shops and eateries are within walking distance (some might be a long walk).

There is Lake Mohave, with its 200 miles of shoreline. Oatman, an old mining town, is only 30 miles away. Lake Havasu City with its London Bridge is a short drive to the South. Davis Dam to the north is very interesting to visit.

The golfer has a choice of several desert courses. Check with the hotel for tee time preferences. There will be a Glenbard Reunion Golf tournament, so be sure to sign up at the Hospitality Suite on Tuesday.

GETTING TO LAUGHLIN

No matter what method of transportation you decide to use -- drive yourself, train, bus or air -- Laughlin is easy to get to and surprisingly convenient.

Unlike Chicago, New York, Los Angeles or any other large metropolitan area the streets and highways are clearly marked and there is not the usual confusion of signs and arrows.

Your hotel is located near the South end of Casino Drive, and getting in and out of the hotel in your car is easy. The covered parking lot is right next door, and there is even an elevator.

Your best bet if you are flying is to go to Las Vegas and either rent a car there or take the shuttle bus (1-800-801-8687). It is about a two-hour easy drive. Also you can fly into Phoenix and rent a car. It is about a 5-hour drive. All major airlines fly into both of these cities.

You can also go by train. Amtrak has terminals in Needles, CA (32 miles South) and Kingman, AZ (45 miles East). You can rent a car at either place. Amtrak's number is 1-800-872-7245.

There are local cabs, and public transportation available. For some extra fun -- try the water taxi service operated by the Casinos. Their local number is (702)298-6828.

If you are driving here are a few mileage figures to give you an idea of how far it is to Laughlin.

Flagstaff, AZ -- 200, Lake Havasu, AZ -- 100, Las Vegas, NV -- 90, Los Angeles, CA -- 300, Phoenix, AZ -- 240, Riverside, CA -- 285, San Diego, CA -- 370, Tucson, AZ -- 355.
