SOME MORE PALS:

NANCY HOMAN KEISER sent word in July... "My husband Paul and I have recently celebrated our 55th Anniversary. We have 4 children and have just added our 10th grandchild. Paul has retired from his hospital administrator position, and I have been an active volunteer. We have done considerable traveling, meeting many wonderful people. One trip to Rome ended with my visit to a 16th Century hospital in the Vatican, having been hit by a moped. An unwanted experience!"

NANCY has been busy with Habitat, Literacy, League of Women Voters, and local government issues. She bird watches, does needlepoint and crosswords!!! Busy Lady! She also suggests more BOOK REPORTS in this Newsletter. So send some, Gang!

DON SAGE wrote JIM LOVE and me after DICK CALKINS passed away with some memories:

"I remember him taking us upstairs in his house to where his dad was working on the comic strip, and showing us the latest episode...and the past, and his always friendly attitude and his approach to life, etc. He was a great guy, and his artistic talent was a real gift from the Lord. I would like to send a few bucks to the 'cause' in his name.
Thanks"

Thank YOU, Don!

(Ed. note: More friends found old memories of DICK, also. See letter)

DAVE HOY sent a B&W photo of DICK and JUNE GEHRINGER:

"The fact that this picture also includes JUNE makes it rather particular. I think this was 1946; we were both out of the service. The Calkins, including also Dick's sister Nan , with June, rented the big four-bedroom cabin that we called CEDARS, and we went fishing and exploring...sorry for the poor quality.
Dave"
