YouTube® Video From The 1944 Reunion

This video was taken (by the Webmaster) at The Boathouse on Lake Ellyn on September 25, 1994. The occasion was the "Farewell Brunch" of the 50th Reunion. The video was edited from about 17 minutes of original Hi8 tape down to the YouTube limit of 10 minutes. If you are using a "broadband" connection the video will display without significant delays or interruptions. While it is not actually impossible to download the video over a dial-up connection, it would take a very long time, and there would be pauses every few seconds.

The original video was not taken under ideal conditions, and even with the adjustments made to it in the editing process there are intervals with poor video quality and hard-to-understand audio. The "compression" needed to allow even broadband connections to "stream" the video also takes a toll on video quality. But the end result should still be an enjoyable bit of nostalgia.

If you can't manage to get the video to display properly, perhaps your children or grandchildren could help.

The video starts with exterior views at the boathouse, and interior views that show groups of classmates at the dining tables. About one minute into the video, Russ Koester, who was President of our Senior Class, made some announcements. He then asked each classmate to stand so that we could all see who was there. There were 54 in all.

Here is the cast of characters, in the order they stood and introduced themselves. Classmates now deceased are named in bold
