Revised September 5, 1999

A reprise of the 1944 gathering at Trout Lake, Wisconsin
The week after graduation in June 1944, sixteen kids went by train, bike, or hitchhiking up to a cottage in northern Wisconsin for a week together. Fifty-five years later in June 1999, Les Duryea invited the fourteen still alive up to his Tamarack Lodge on Trout Lake in northern Wisconsin.

Jean Rohm and Bob Saint Clair had passed away. Sox Howell and Dick Calkins were unable to make it, but twelve did: Les, of course, John Glathe, Bob Hilb, Tom Jensen, Russ Koester, Jim Love, Bob McCray, Dick Malm, Al Osterling, Don Sage, Joe Wagner, and Phil Woodworth. Don Sage supplied T-shirts emblazoned with a big "G" and senior pictures on them. The photo shows the T-shirted group out for dinner at a restaurant across the lake. As Les was paying the bill everyone drove off and left the host stranded. The restaurant Chef finally drove him back to the Lodge.

Left to right: Les, John, Al, Don, Russ, Dick, Bob, Phil.
